EXTERIOR FAN SYSTEMS


The captioned photos above are of exterior systems and utilize aluminum downspout exhausts that either match the existing siding color or soffit and gutter color on the house. There are examples of the downspout exhaust routed through the house soffit and one that was routed along the contour of a brick chimney chase.  The fan and a newly installed GFCI receptacle are enclosed in a white or painted housing customized exclusively by Timmit Radon Systems to be weatherproof which protects both the fan and the electrical connection from the elements.  Because the fan is enclosed, the noise of the already quiet fan itself is reduced significantly. The weatherproof housing also simulates the condition of a fan installed in an attic space as closely as possible. Fans installed in attic spaces typically last longer than those installed on the house exterior because they aren't exposed to the elements. The customized weatherproof housing exclusive to Timmit Radon Systems eliminates the possibility of fan failures due to weather exposure. The method we use to mount the fan to the housing baseplate is exclusive to Timmit Radon Systems also. The u-shaped mounting brackets for the downspout are custom painted and cannot be seen when the exhaust is viewed from the front. The downspout exhaust and elbows are assembled, utilizing stainless steel rust-proof self-tapping screws, and all joints are sealed with silicone caulk. There is also a photo on the bottom right corner that shows our system on the right next to an exterior system utilizing a pvc pipe exhaust installed by another contractor with their fan and electrical connection exposed.
